block all google service :(

Back from the movie "Transformers", I found all the google services
were blocked by GFW, even including gmail. I have to use tor or other
methods to check email.

Early before, all the news about the Green Dam and the block of google
abroad searching service flooded all Chinese web sits , as well as
forum and blocks. Now it seems upgrade into another level :(

After the movie – "transformers", my friends just talked about some
scene about China was cut by the authority. None of them are related
about eroticism, violence or politics. Then why? Is it just to
remember us their existence and their power or right to choose what we
can see and what we can accept?

GFW …….. So disappointed.

google gears & douban API

Douban is the place where I used to search books, music or movies. I guess a lot of people might have the same problem that after searching, downloading them, a great category strategy and a huge disk are the things you need for them. And most people want to set up an mapping between douban searching results and local files.

Then douban API can be used to reply the request of searching. The relation of the mapping between search results and local files will be stored in the database, as well as the files themselves. The Google Gears will supply an local link referred to the file. This is a quite great and convenient idea and application.

It seems web application will definitely become the new power of the software evolution. This might be the beginning of the new era, since the google app engine published, increasing applications appeared to change the life of surfing Internet.

H1N1 In China

Before I flied back, I heard a lot of the emergency strategy for H1N1. I was examined temperature twice on plane, and filled a table of my detail address and phone number, even my future seven days plan. Actually, long before that, there was some one visit my parents and asked them to make me stay at home for seven days.  Except that, you can find the propaganda for H1N1 everywhere. There are some Leaflets at the first floor.

Maybe due to the reason of SARS, China has raised the level of protection. There is an saying populated from the China civil war, quite suitable to describe this situation --  Preferring to kill 300 people by mistake, not let anyone escape. If there is only one people on plane had abnormal temperature, all the people on plane will be quarantined.

A lot of people comment it as a political show and overdo for the reality. And in Chinese medicine perspective, the H1N1 is related to the change of weather, nothing big deal. And people should be peace with it as well as with nature, no panic no trepidation.

From today's newspaper, there was a news that duet to the huge cost of quarantine and treatment. The government changed the policy. Government will only take care of the people who is serious sick. And the other people should be cured by local hospital, quite ironical comparing to the attitude before.

Up

The first time to watch the preview was before the movie of "Coraline", with fresh impression of the blue sky and colorful balloons. From the same Pixar for "Wall-E", the movie is quite cozy but sad at the beginning part which is about 10 minutes flashback of memory. Their life is simple without the adventure they expected when they were kids, but that's real and happy life and actually I am sure that it is the life the lady wants. When the house is not just a house, which is full of memory and love, once you can just say "It is just a house" without any regression and lost when it falls down, it is time to begin the new adventure.

Another thing needs to recommend is the short animation before the movie about the cloud artist and a bird, lovely friendship. You can't miss it.

block is the only thing you can do ?

I planed to write some thing for the 20 years anniversary of the famous "6.4" Tiananmen square. But days before June 4th, many my friend told me that they can't get access to this blog, even Twitter. Sorry for it, but it is kind of my expectation.

Maybe China is still not ready to face the challenge of truth, or at least they don't want it now, since the economy condition keeps decreasing. This might not be a good time for it. But I believe maybe next 10 years, there still be some issue it needs to concern. It is easy to find all kinds of alibi to escape from this difficult time to face its own fault. Blocking is the easiest way to do it.

Feel so sorry for it. Maybe less hope, more silent.
